York City’s youth-team were impressive winners this weekend after fighting back to defeat Hartlepool United 3-2 in the EFL Youth Alliance at The Racecourse in Durham.
Aaron Haswell scored their winning goal following the visitors trailing 2-1 earlier in the contest, while centre-back Josh Rogerson and midfielder Harry Thompson were similarly on target. City’s ranks also included latest senior debutant Flynn McNaughton.
That marked a first victory in five games for the Minstermites having previously won four straight league fixtures against Lincoln City, Burton Albion, Doncaster Rovers and Scunthorpe United .
They are next due in action at Bradford City this coming weekend.
