York City have been handed a massive boost with striker Ashley Chambers returning to their squad for this weekend’s visit to Wycombe Wanderers.

Eight-goal Chambers, 22, hasn’t appeared since suffering a stomach injury after scoring twice in the 4-1 win over Bristol Rovers in mid-December.
He is likely to make the bench at Adams Park but long-serving central defender David McGurk isn’t travelling after his recent hamstring problem flared up.
Meanwhile, sidelined winger Michael Coulson is targeting the visit to Torquay United in five weeks time following his surgery on cruciate ligament damage.
“Ashley Chambers is travelling with us to Wycombe,” assistant manager Darron Gee told The Press. “He’s available for selection and has trained hard and done really well this week. Dave McGurk has had to go for a scan so he won’t be involved. He maybe tried to come back too soon because he’s been frustrated with the lack of football he’s had.
“Michael Coulson is coming on in leaps and bounds,” he continued. “Both him and Ash Chambers have been missed as they scored a lot of our goals earlier in the season. We are looking at the Torquay game for Couls and that’s a great goal for him to strive for.”
Wycombe have recently overtaken their visitors in the table following their excellent 1-0 victory at former leaders Gillingham earlier this week.
The Chairboys will also be chasing a league double having already won 3-1 at Bootham Crescent on the opening day of the season.
