York City Ladies extended their lead at the top of the North East Regional Women’s Football Premier League with a 4-0 victory at Hessle Town.

2. BRIGHOUSE 3-7 (+5)
3. WHITLEY BAY 3-6 (0)
4. CASTLEFORD 3-4 (-1)

The Minsterbelles surged to a fourth straight win and now lead the table by five points after second-placed Brighouse Town Ladies were held 3-3 by Castleford White Rose.

Striker Louise Ross added two more to her ever-growing tally, while Alicia Smith, fresh from completing the Great North Run, and prolific leading goalscorer Jazz Whitwell were similarly on target. Helen Dalby was named as player of the game.

Meanwhile, Tynedale Ladies got their first points of the season by thrashing Peterlee RA 6-0 in the other game.
