York City youth-team striker Ryan Edmondson is understood to have completed a move to Championship neighbours Leeds United.

The sixteen-year-old 6′ 2″ target-man was already handed a senior debut for the Minstermen when appearing from the bench in last month’s 2-1 victory against Brackley Town.

That was recently-appointed manager Martin Gray’s first game in charge at Bootham Crescent, with leading scorer Jon Parkin scoring twice and ensuring him a winning start.

Knaresborough schoolboy Edmondson had also been watched by Middlesbrough and Derby County amongst others.
