Recent York City target Mark Beck has joined neighbours Harrogate Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old 6′ 5″ one-time Carlisle United and Yeovil Town striker scored eighteen goals in 41 games for Darlington under current York manager Martin Gray last season.

He had appeared set to reunite with his former boss at Bootham Crescent only last month, until a medical reportedly discovered a knee condition and the deal collapsed.

“We are all delighted to sign Mark,” manager Simon Weaver told Harrogate’s official website. “We know that from playing against him and watching him play several times that he is a big threat in front of goal.

“His physical presence will compliment the current players within our set-up, and at twenty-three years of age his best years are ahead of him.”
