Former York City loan goalkeeper Nick Pope has joined Premier League newcomers Burnley for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old agreed a three-year deal and with the option of a further twelve months at Turf Moor.

“I want to develop as a goalkeeper and with the ‘keepers that are already here I definitely feel I can learn from them,” Pope told Burnley’s official website. “They’ve both experienced the England set up and it’s only a good thing for me to be around them day to day in training and at games. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Burnley have also snapped up his Charlton Athletic team-mate Johann Berg Gudmundsson – the 25-year-old Icelandic international midfielder arriving in a £2.5m deal.
