That’s the same venue where they defeated Middlesbrough on penalties to lift the trophy for a record sixth time two years earlier.

Twelve months later the Minsterbelles won it again on penalties following a dramatic 2-2 draw with their own reserves in Nether Poppleton.

York reached this year’s final after a 3-0 victory at neighbours Poppleton last weekend, courtesy of a second-half hat-trick from striker Alice Turner.

Redcar were, meanwhile, impressively overcoming higher-ranked Boro Rangers 2-0 in front of around two-hundred spectators. Jess Round and Beth Enderwick both on target.

They currently top the North Riding Premier League having won twelve of their fifteen games this season, and while their final opponents are a couple of divisions higher, will doubtless be chasing another shock.
