The long-serving 30-year-old centre-back would become only the nineteenth player to achieve the feat for the Minstermen since originally joining them on loan from Darlington more than eight years ago.
“Reaching 300 games is a big milestone and I’m proud to get there,” McGurk told The Press. “I probably should have got there this time last season so it’s been a long time coming but I’m looking forward to the match.
“I am proud to be 19th on the appearances list as well and would like to carry on going up that list if I can,” he continued. “I would be higher up if I’d been fit all the time but, then again, I was lucky with injuries in the early part of my career.”
