Defender Lanre Oyebanjo is already a doubt for York City’s weekend trip to Plymouth Argyle due to a hamstring injury.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international suffered the problem during yesterday’s narrow 1-0 friendly defeat to a strong Scunthorpe United line-up.

The Minstermen also included David McGurk, Jon Challinor, Danny Blanchett and Jamie Reed at Glanford Park, but eventually lost out to a solitary second-half goal from ex-Leeds United striker Mike Grella.

Oyebanjo, 22, appeared as a late substitute in York’s 3-2 victory at Rochdale on Saturday and will be closely monitored ahead of the visit to Devon.
