Evo-Stik Premier club Farsley Celtic have made their second capture of the day another former York City player.

Winger Will Hayhurst already has in excess of fifty Football League appearances and joins ex-York centre-back Jack Higgins in moving from Warrington Town to Throstle Nest.

The 24-year-old previously had spells at Notts County and Preston North End, when including a couple of Republic of Ireland Under-21 international caps.

And it was while at Preston that Hayhurst moved to Bootham Crescent on loan in January  2014 – and went on to score once in twenty appearances for the Minstermen on their way into the League Two play-offs.

“We are both very ambitious and I really believe that [manager] Adam [Lakeland] can help me in my career with the football club,” Hayhurst told Farsley’s official website. “What he had to say really impressed me and I believe that he can develop me and get me back to the level I want to be.

“I played against Farsley earlier in the season and it was evident that they like to play football the right way,” he continued. “I have heard a lot about them and it is all positive. I cannot wait to get going and try and achieve promotion with the club. The move really excites me and I am delighted to be here.”
