Former York City midfielder Alex Lawless has signed a one-year deal with Yeovil Town.

The 31-year-old playmaker was released by their League Two rivals Luton Town at the end of last season having totalled more than two-hundred senior appearances and twenty-two goals while at Kenilworth Road.

He also had earlier spells at Forest Green Rovers, Torquay United, Fulham and Ton Pentre, in a career spanning more than four-hundred games.

During his stay at Bootham Crescent, Lawless made 63 appearances and scored four times, including featuring in their Wembley play-off final defeat to Oxford United in May 2010.
