Former York City defender Marvin McCoy is leaving National League play-off semi-finalists Ebbsfleet United.

The 29-year-old Walthamstow-born right-back made 66 appearances over the past couple of seasons at Stonebridge Road.

Fleet, who also include ex-York centre-back Dave Winfield within their ranks, were only defeated on penalties by the eventually promoted Tranmere Rovers in this season’s play-offs.

“The last couple of seasons have been great and successful,” McCoy commented on social network site twitter. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time but now it’s time for a new chapter on my journey. Would like to thank the players, fans and staff who have made my time here memorable, I appreciate you all.”

McCoy had originally arrived at the club in August 2016 following his departure by mutual consent from Bootham Crescent seven months earlier.

That was having completed 54 games for the Minstermen and after earlier stays with Wycombe Wanderers, Wealdstone, Leyton, Harrow Borough and Hereford United.

During his earlier career, McCoy was involved at youth level for both Arsenal and Watford – and includes eight full international caps for Antigua and Barbuda.
