Former York City striker Ryan Edmondson scored his first Leeds United senior goal in a 2-0 victory against the Myanmar national team in Mandalay on Friday.

The sixteen-year-old only recently made his senior first-team debut at Elland Road as a second-half substitute in their 2-0 success against Queens Park Rangers.

That followed his arrival from the Minstermen in November and after spending a couple of years developing with City’s Academy.

Edmondson earned the visitors the lead on the hour when following up after Caleb Ekuban had initially been denied by the Myanmar goalkeeper.

Jay-Roy Grot then found the top corner of the net with seven minutes remaining, while former York loanee keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell maintained a clean-sheet at the other end.
