Teenage midfielder Callum Rzonca is having to sit out the early weeks of pre-season.

The nineteen-year-old signed a new one-year deal over the summer but frustratingly missed the opening run out against Middlesbrough at the weekend due to injury.

“I dislocated my shoulder, but will be back in training next week and playing in a few weeks,” Rzonca told The Press. “I’ve done it before with my other shoulder and it will be alright.

“It happened in the summer and, whilst it’s frustrating, you get ups and downs in football and just have to try to get back as soon as you can, then try and impress.”

Rzonca has so far made a couple of substitute appearances for the Minstermen and includes a nine-game loan stay with Evo-Stik Northern Premier League outfit Stamford last season.
