York City’s game at AFC Telford United appears certain to go ahead this evening (kick-off 7.45pm).
The playing surface is reportedly clear and with there being no current signs of snow, as the visitors attempt to move up to fourth place in National League North.
The hosts earlier described conditions as “cold but very much playable”.
Local forecasts had the weather turning increasingly wintry with snow accumulating in places, especially over the hills and feeling bitterly cold, and with wintry showers expected to continue overnight.
The Minstermen departed from Bootham Crescent at 1.00pm ahead of a planned pre-match meal on the way down.
For the game itself, travelling supporters are advised to enter the stadium via turnstiles N, O & P inside the University of Wolverhampton Stand.
City fans will actually be housed in The Frank Nagington Stand for standing purpose only, while refreshments are available to them from inside the University of Wolverhampton Stand.
Away supporters are also welcome in the Learning Centre Bar from 6.00pm prior to the game, where Fosters, Strongbow, Dark Fruits & John Smith are readily available as well as bottled beers.
Good evening to all City supporters! Take a look at a few photos from tonight’s venue at @telfordutd . The pitch may be a little ‘sticky’ in places but it is a good stadium and there is no sign of snow!!! #ycfc pic.twitter.com/hmNqDFBgTk
