Former York City goalkeeper David Stockdale has joined Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion for an undisclosed fee.

The 28-year-old one-time England squad shot-stopper agreed a three-year deal with the Seagulls after spending the past six years at Fulham.

Leeds-born Stockdale originally began his career with the Minstermen before spending a couple of seasons at Darlington.

He has also served loan spells at Rotherham United, Leicester City, Plymouth Argyle, Ipswich Town and Hull City while totalling 52 appearances for the Cottagers.
