York City Ladies would totally banish any possibility of finishing in the bottom two with victory as they welcome Wakefield Ladies to Haxby Road on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 2.00pm).
The Minsterbelles currently have a four-point advantage over second-bottom Castleford White Rose, who already thrashed the only club below themselves in the table, Wakefield, 7-2 in their latest fixture.
However, Castleford have only a single league game remaining at title-favourites Norton & Stockton Ancients this weekend.
Meanwhile, there’s already an eight-point gap separating Wakefield from their upcoming hosts following them also being dumped 5-1 at Farsley Celtic on Thursday evening.

Josie Hewson was in midweek action for Brighouse following a dual registration
Also in midweek, City right-back Josie Hewson was back in action as a 67th minute substitute for Brighouse Town in the WPL as they defeated Newcastle United Ladies 4-0, having recently agreed a dual registration with both clubs.
The Belles are yet to face Wakefield this season, but overcame them 3-1 in the corresponding game last term courtesy of goals from Lucy Lendhill, Kayleigh Davis and Ellie Regan.
But that only achieved revenge for a disappointing 4-2 defeat to the same opponents a fortnight earlier, when Becca Dawson and Regan were each on target.

Aside from Castleford trying to end Norton & Stockton’s still 100% record, there’s a couple of other weekend clashes in the North East Regional Premier League.
Now leading the table by only three points and having already played a trio more games, Durham Cestria take on Wallsend BC, while it’s RACA Tynedale against Farsley elsewhere.
