York City have released midfielder Tyler Walton for a second time in just eight months.

The youngster only returned to Bootham Crescent in November following a couple of reserve appearances against Port Vale and Mansfield Town.

Walton had originally joined the Minstermen in May 2016, until being released by former manager Gary Mills twelve months later. He totalled just a solitary substitute appearance in a 2-0 defeat at Torquay United in September.

However, his replacement Martin Gray was to invite him back for a second opportunity earlier this season, and he signed non-contract terms following a successful trial.

He previously had spells as a schoolboy with Leeds United, Barnsley and Manchester City, before being spotted playing for Leeds Sixth-Form College by ex-City youth-team coach Jonathan Greening.
