Manager Gary Mills said he was taking full responsibility following York City’s worst performance of the season against AFC Wimbledon.

The Minstermen produced a truly dismal display and their struggling visitors took maximum advantage with a thoroughly deserved 3-0 victory at Bootham Crescent.
All three goals arrived during the second-half courtesy of Byron Harrison, Stacy Long and a Jack Midson penalty – to doubtless leave the Dons in great spirits ahead of the FA Cup first round replay between the two sides on Monday evening.
“We were second best all game,” Mills admitted to BBC Radio York. “It’s the poorest we’ve started for a long time and we didn’t get any better, hence we lost the game. Hopefully it is a one-off. We didn’t get going and in the end we got what we’ve deserved, nothing.
“I’m going to sit back myself, look at my team selection, look at how I prepared the players, the job that I’ve done,” he continued. “I’ll completely take the blame myself and we move on to Monday.”
