York City manager Gary Mills will be running the rule over four League of Ireland trialists in a friendly game at Sunderland next week.

“I’ve done my homework on them and hopefully they could be exactly what I’m looking for” – Gary Mills

Three of the unnamed players are forwards and the other a defender as the City boss continues to attempt to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window.

Mills told The Press: “I’ve done my homework on them and feel they might bring something positive and, hopefully, could be exactly what I’m looking for.”

The Minstermen are currently without top scorer Ashley Chambers through injury while fellow forward Michael Coulson appears unlikely to feature again this season.
