York City may be without summer signing Luke Summerfield for the big kick-off at Tranmere Rovers on 9th August.

The former Shrewsbury Town schemer failed to make the weekend draw with St Johnstone due to minor ligament trouble
in his knee.
“Luke tweaked his knee ligaments after a ball caught him on the end of his toe in training,” manager Nigel Worthington told The Press. “He will probably be out two to three weeks, so it will be touch and go whether he starts the season. We could do without that and it’s an unfortunate situation but you’ve got to live with it.”
Meanwhile, Worthington is hopeful goalkeeper Michael Ingham will be ready to face Hull City in the latest friendly on Wednesday following a recent groin injury.
“He did a bit of handing work in training and before Saturday’s game but he wasn’t ready to kick the ball,” he added. “Hopefully, he should be nearly there this week.”
