Manager Gary Mills believes York City’s latest signing Curtis Obeng will provide them with an extra attacking edge.

“We have left ourselves a bit short because of injuries in that area” – Gary Mills

The 23-year-old former Wrexham right-back has arrived on a month’s loan from Swansea City after Lanre Oyebanjo was ruled out for six around weeks due to a fractured skull sustained in the weekend draw at Gillingham.

Obeng appears certain to go straight into the side for the visit of Morecambe on Saturday.

“He’s a good attacking full-back. We have left ourselves a bit short because of injuries in that area and we felt we needed to bring another one in,” Mills told The Press. “He is right-sided but Daniel Parslow proved how versatile he is and had an unbelievable game against Gillingham at left-back.”
