Manager Gary Mills certainly won’t be hitting the panic button in his search for greater firepower for York City.

“We have had a few options and could have signed a few players so far” – Gary Mills

The Minstermen are currently without their eight-goal top scorer Ashley Chambers through injury while sidelined fellow forward Michael Coulson appears unlikely to feature again this term.

Meanwhile, ex-Norwich City front-runner Oli Johnson has made precious little impression after struggling for fitness since arriving from Oxford United last summer. Mills also transfer-listed striker Jamie Reed at his own request earlier this week.

“We are not going to panic and sign somebody just for the sake of it, even though we are short, striker-wise,” Mills admitted to the Yorkshire Post. “We have had a few options and could have signed a few players so far. But we did not feel it was right. We have got certain targets we are hanging on for who we are hoping that we can get.”
