Darlington manager Tommy Wright says there is no agreement in place regarding injured striker Mark Beck moving to York City once recovered.

The 23-year-old former Carlisle United marksman appeared ready to join the Minstermen last month, until the deal collapsed due to an ongoing posterior cruciate ligament injury.

He’s since missed five of their last six games, with no date currently set for his return to action, although he is back in the gym and preparing to begin running.

York boss Martin Gray has already previously raided his former club for England ‘C’ international David Ferguson, while also trying to recruit similarly capped goalkeeper Adam Bartlett.

“In the chats I’ve had with Becky he’s said he’s happy, he’s settled and focused on getting back on the pitch,” Darlington counterpart Wright told The Northern Echo. “There’s been no contact with York since what happened.

“Good players will always attract attention, that’s football, and every player has his price, but I’d like to think we can keep him and he’s happy where he is.”
