Veteran striker Jon Parkin took his recent goalscoring tally to ten in his last ten appearances during the weekend victory against Curzon Ashton.

After being on target in the opening 2-0 victory at Blyth Spartans back in early August, the 35-year-old missed three games due to a calf injury before then converting a couple of penalties in the 4-2 triumph at Spennymoor Town.

Since then Parkin has added further doubles against Salford City (in the FA Cup) and Brackley Town, plus additional strikes when facing South Shields, Leamington, Tamworth and now Curzon Ashton.

Those have raised his total this season to eleven in fifteen games – and overall an outstanding 27 goals in 43 appearances following his return to Bootham Crescent twelve months ago.

York City Goalscorers 2017-18: Parkin 11, Newton 4, Heslop 3, Morgan-Smith 3, Almond, 2, Parslow 2, Rankine 2, Connolly 1, Felix 1, Ferguson 1, Law 1, Rowe 1, OG 1
