Manager Nigel Worthington was a very proud man after his York City side produced a wonderfully spirited performance in their play-off semi-final second-leg against Fleetwood Town.

The Minstermen were absolutely tremendous in their quest to pull back a one-goal deficit from the first-leg but ultimately fell just short during a very entertaining scoreless draw.
“The energy, the effort, the commitment, the quality of the passing at times, I can’t fault the players in any way, shape or form,” Worthington told SkySports. “You have got to stick the ball in the back of the net, and we created chances. They got clearances but it’s up to us to get on the end of things, which we didn’t do.
“But as a group of lads, and as a manager of those lads, I’m a very proud man,” he added.
