York City Futsal were unable to check the progress of unbeaten National Super League leaders Reading Escolla after a 10-4 defeat in High Wycombe.

Having secured their biggest league triumph of the season when thrashing bottom club London Genesis 5-0 seven days earlier, the visitors were given a taste of their own medicine by always slick and quick opponents.

Despite that the top-flight newcomers, who were impressively seeking a fourth victory in their opening six outings, actually led during the earlier stages of the contest.

However, Reading’s sixteen-year-old James Dirkin went on become the youngest-ever player to score a hat-trick in the Super League, while Michael Bulmer (2), Miguel De Vicente and Junior Cavalcante were each on target for their visitors.

The Minstermen therefore slip to sixth in the table, but still with a game in hand on most of the clubs directly above them.
