Burton Albion have avoided losing manager Gary Rowett ahead of their weekend clash with York City.

Rowett was approached by troubled Championship club Blackpool, who
currently still have Jose Riga in charge.
However, following talks with Seasiders’ owner Karl Oyston, the 40-year-old has decided to remain at Burton.
“Following discussions with Blackpool, I have decided that I will remain at Burton Albion for the foreseeable future,” Rowett told Burton’s official website. “I feel as though it is not the right job for me at the present time.
“We’ve made an excellent start to this season, winning seven out of eight games and I feel we have an excellent group of players in the squad currently.”
