York City’s reserves are back in action when hosting Mansfield Town at Bootham Crescent on Tuesday afternoon (kick-off 1.00pm).

The Minstermen lost their opening fixture 3-1 to Port Vale last week despite an equaliser from Amari Morgan-Smith. That was while including a couple of trialists, one of those being former City midfielder Tyler Walton.

Meanwhile, the Stags have similarly played just a single Central League game – a 1-0 defeat to Rotherham United back in September.

However, they’ve since triumphed in a couple of Central League Cup ties against a young Burton Albion side (4-0) and Grimsby Town (2-0). Former York defender Mal Benning was on target in the first of those games.

Mansfield boss Steve Evans was again likely to select those players not recently appearing in his first-team.

Admission is free.
