Teenager Tom Allan admitted to feeling stunned after earning his senior debut in the weekend 4-1 victory against Bristol Rovers.

The eighteen-year-old central defender came off the bench to replace Chris Doig early in the second-half as an Ashley Chambers brace added to a superb Jason Walker volley and a Garry Kenneth own-goal from the visitors.
York-born Allan only recently signed professional terms while still in the second year of his scholarship with the club but has been receiving plenty of praise of late from manager Gary Mills.
“I didn’t think my debut would come this season,” Allan told The Press. “I thought I would just be sitting on the bench or training with the first team.
“It was quite a shock to me actually. I was surprised because I thought David McGurk was going to go on but the gaffer told me to get ready and start warming up,” he continued. “I’m a York City fan and it’s good to make my debut at last having come through the centres of excellence.”
