York City’s leading goalscorer Wes Fletcher has undergone surgery on his medial ligament injury.

“Wes had his op on Tuesday afternoon and he can now start his rehab” – Nigel Worthington

Meanwhile, team-mate Josh Carson was due for his operation for cruciate ligament damage at the end of the month.

Both players found their season ended early during the glorious 1-0 victory at Portsmouth towards the end of March.

“Wes had his op on Tuesday afternoon
and he can now start his rehab,” manager Nigel Worthington confirmed to The Press. “Josh is going to have his operation at the end of the month. We’ve got to let the swelling go down on his knee before they can do the surgery.”
