York City Futsal remain without a victory in six games after Cambridge United scored three times without reply at the University of Cambridge Sports Centre last weekend.

Monty Bouttell earned the home side a fifth-minute lead when receiving Vitalii Burnus’ pass and slotting past goalkeeper Vladimir De Paula; Angel Martinez then side-footed another after Paulo Rodrigues was initially denied by the frame of the goal.

Bouttell duly extended their advantage when locating the far corner following the interval, while the visitors were twice thwarted by the same upright at the opposite end as both fly keeper De Paula and leading scorer Daniel Pedras went close.

The U’s are now undefeated in their last eight games ahead of welcoming FC Salisbury United this weekend – with York now turning their attention towards hosting Manchester at the YorkSport Arena on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 4.15pm).

Results: Cambridge United 3-0 York City; FC Salisbury United 4-4 Birmingham; Loughborough 6-7 Manchester; London Helvecia P-P Oxford City Lions; London Genesis 2-5 Tranmere Rovers; Reading Escolla P-P London City
