With the majority of players away training on the York St John University astroturf due to the Wiggington Road training ground currently being waterlogged, a couple were instead lapping the famous Bootham Crescent pitch.

Recovering midfielder Clovis Kamdjo and suspended twenty-five goal leading marksman Jon Parkin were both excused the artificial surface in order to protect their knees.

“We’ve Clovis and Jon in for fitness,” conditioning coach Robbie Dawson explained to York’s official YouTube channel. “They can’t train on astroturf due to their various injuries and that kind of thing, so we tend to do a little bit more fitness on the grass.

“Today we’ve just done three times around the pitch to open up the lungs and legs, and then we’ll do a bit of stretching and something a little more short, sharp and dynamic.”

Neither player will be involved for the forthcoming arrival of Boston United after a weekend off due to the bad weather.

However, Kamdjo appears certain to continue his comeback against Middlesbrough in the North Riding Senior Cup semi-final on Tuesday evening.
