York City are making sure they are ready for action despite the bad weather restricting them over the past few days.

The Minstermen’s weekend trip to promotion rivals Kidderminster Harriers has already been cancelled, meaning they next await the arrival of Boston United to Bootham Crescent on Saturday-week.

That’s immediately followed by the re-arranged Kidderminster game in midweek – and then a home meeting with Southport.

“We were in Monday/Tuesday and really lucky that we got on the pitch,” manager Martin Gray admitted to York’s official YouTube channel. “Had a really good double-session, so early in the week was good.

“Obviously Wednesday and Thursday caught everybody out a little bit. But we’re back in today working very hard – double-session again today. Just keeping up the fitness levels, really.

“We’re not going to be able to get on any grass,” he continued. “We can’t get any indoor or 3G. Everywhere you phone around is used by their own clubs.

“But we’ve got a full week ahead with the training programme, and can hopefully get out on the grass come Monday/Tuesday.

“We’ll probably try and arrange a practice match behind closed doors for early in the week, subject to us getting on the pitch.”
