Former York City discovery Ben Godfrey has signed a new four-year deal keeping him at Championship outfit Norwich City until the summer of 2021.

The nineteen-year-old moved to Carrow Road for an undisclosed six-figure fee in January 2016. That after making just fifteen senior appearances for the Minstermen; those including seven starts and an accompanying single goal.

York-born Godfrey then also scored on his Canaries debut when coming on as substitute in a 6-1 League Cup triumph against Coventry City early the following season.

“From when I signed I knew it was a great club. I couldn’t ask for anything more than the faith they’re showing in me,” he told Norwich’s official website. “Being involved quite a lot in pre-season has really made me feel part of the first team. I’m looking to get as many minutes as I can and make a difference to the team.”
