York City Futsal’s Michael Bulmer recently scored his first international goal for the newly-formed England Under-19 side.

Bulmer, who broke into the York first-team at the age of just sixteen, was on target as the Three Lions won the second of back-to-back meetings with the Netherlands 3-1 at the Dutch national football centre in Ziest.

England had already triumphed 4-2 in their opening encounter just twenty-four hours earlier.

“It was a great experience for my development in futsal – and obviously to represent my country,” commented Bulmer, who at the weekend helped his club to a crucial 3-1 victory at London Genesis.

That was sufficient to move the newcomers six points clear of the relegation zone in the National Super League.

“It was great for us to get a win to survive in this league, and getting further to safety,” he added.

The Minstermen next host Sheffield in the FA Futsal Cup on Sunday.
