Latest signing Sam Muggleton admitted that remaining at York City was actually an easy decision.

The 21-year-old former Eastleigh and Barnet left-back yesterday agreed a permanent deal with the Minstermen having made eight appearances since arriving on a short-term contract in March.

He was rewarded for a number influential displays from the bench with a full debut against Forest Green Rovers on the final weekend of the league season.

“I’m delighted. It was a big decision, but an easy decision as well,” Muggleton told York’s official YouTube channel. “Obviously the gaffer’s [Gary Mills] sold it to me. Having other offers, but this one was was more for me.”

Muggleton’s huge long throws have already reaped dividends for York, and could prove a devastating weapon next season when attempting to make an immediate return to the National League.
