York City fought back to preserve their unbeaten home record since the turn of the year with a 1-1 draw against Chorley.
The Minstermen suffered an early double-blow when Alex Newby fired the visitors in front on eleven minutes despite claims of a foul on loanee midfielder Alex Pattison. He was injured as a result of the challenge and soon replaced.
But it was actually the introduction from the bench of man-of-the-match Adriano Moke, lively Connor Smith and promising seventeen-year-old youth-team striker Flynn McNaughton, that helped spark a much-needed improved second-half performance from the promotion-chasers
That brought them a deserved equaliser when England ‘C’ international David Ferguson crossed for Smith to register his first-ever senior goal with just eighteen minutes remaining, although their opponents were similarly unhappy at the award of the goal while calling for an offside decision.
