York City shared a 2-2 draw with League One side Scunthorpe United in their pre-season friendly at Bootham Crescent.

The Minstermen went ahead after only six minutes when Amari Morgan-Smith headed back Daniel Parslow’s cross from the right and home debutant Louis Almond finished at close-range.

Returning striker Michael Rankine then headed a second early in the second-half following another huge throw-in from Sam ‘The Weapon’ Muggleton.

But former City midfielder Neal Bishop poked a reply with fifteen minutes remaining before Hakeeb Adelakun swiftly drilled in a low equaliser.
