York City manager Martin Gray says he’s very happy with his transfer business so far having made long-serving Spennymoor Town right-back Kallum Griffiths his latest capture.
The 28-year-old therefore follows former Gateshead trio Russell Penn, Jordan Burrow and Wes York to Bootham Crescent as the Minstermen continue revamping a squad that failed so miserably last term.
However, Gray insists there are still at least a couple more new recruits required to reach the level of competition he requires.
“I wanted to get some business done,” he told York’s official YouTube channel. “I think it’s important that we’ve been working very hard, certainly since the back end of the season.
“We had to get rid of players initially but I’m pleased that we’ve got somewhere near what we’re looking to do. I still think we’re one or two players short of the final pieces of the jigsaw.
“But equally, I’m very happy we’ve got some key signings in,” Gray admitted. “I’m hoping that in the next week to ten days we’re hopefully somewhere near done with our business.”
