Winger Will Hayhurst is determined to press on with Preston North End following his recent loan spell at York City.

The 20-year-old managed twenty appearances and scored twice for the Minstermen following his arrival in January – in the process helping them towards a long seventeen-game unbeaten run and sensationally into the play-offs.
“Going to York on loan was a great experience for me,” Hayhurst told the Lancashire Evening Post. “I needed a regular run of games and it was good to be part of a side which went on a long unbeaten run and got into the play-offs.
“I learned a lot at York, experiencing different situations,” he continued. “They were quite low down the table when I joined but got on a great run to get into the play-offs. I’m now back at Preston and hopefully I can push myself forward for a place next season.”
