York City manager Gary Mills isn’t especially concerned about the current winless six-game run at Bootham Crescent.

“We’re not winning but we’re not losing too many either” – Gary Mills

The Minstermen avoided a third consecutive defeat at second-placed Port Vale at the weekend, but after fighting back from two-goals down at the interval that should probably feel like a moral victory anyway.

Striker Jamie Reed scored a deserved late equaliser with his fourth goal in just five games after being given a rare start, while on loan Alex Rodman earlier netted his first goal for the club.

“Let’s enjoy a point at Port Vale because, if we start worrying about not winning, it can create problems,” Mills told The Press. “We’ve just got to keep going and the wins will come.

“We’re not winning, which is a situation we’re not used to, but we’re not losing too many either,” he continued. “We’re not a million miles behind Port Vale if we can turn the draws into wins and I believe we will.”
