Nigel Worthington’s former club Sheffield Wednesday have been lined up for a pre-season friendly with York City.

The Owls are set to open their programme of warm-up games at Bootham Crescent on Saturday 12th July, with a 3.00pm kick-off.

Former defender Worthington made over 400 senior appearances for the Hillsborough side during a ten-year stay between 1984-94.

Wednesday also have pre-season games arranged with Bury, Doncaster Rovers, Newcastle United and Barnsley.
