York City are hopeful of a swift decision over whether the points deducted following the recent demise of Chester City should be reinstated and their future opponents awarded three points for unplayed fixtures.

The Conference board has until 8th April to answer an appeal lodged by ten clubs in the division, including York, before it would then go to an FA hearing.

“Whatever is done needs to be fair for the teams at the top, in the middle and down the bottom,” Foyle told The Press. “I think the decision to deduct points was made without really taking everybody into consideration.

“We are not affected as much as some teams but I think it is right to reinstate the points and award three points for the unfulfilled fixtures. It would be nice to get the matter resolved swiftly but things take time when lawyers are involved.”
