York City have offered professional contracts to three members of their youth-team.
Skipper and centre-back Josh Rogerson, midfielder Harry Thompson and striker Flynn McNaughton are each handed the opportunity of progressing further
McNaughton, 17, already has three senior substitute appearances for the Minstermen while also featuring alongside Rogerson and Thompson – both 18 – with the reserves. He scored twice during their midweek victory against Doncaster Rovers.
However, second-year Academy scholars Josh Berry, Aaron Haswell, Noah Jackson, Joe Kemp, Zac Lawrence and Joe Wilton are all released.
Otherwise, a quartet of first-year scholars, Nathan Dyer, Aston Harrison, Isaac Overton and Jake Watson, return again next season.
Academy goalkeeper Ryan Whitley has previously signed a first professional deal eight months ago and is under contract until the summer of 2019.
