York City have signed left-back Sam Muggleton from Eastleigh in a deal running until the end of the current season.
The 21-year-old already made seventeen appearances for League Two Barnet this term before following manager Martin Allen to Eastleigh for an undisclosed fee in January. He’s since featured for them on a handful of occasions.
Muggleton, who can also operate in midfield, originally began his career at Leicester City prior to a stay with Gillingham; making his professional debut for the newly-crowned League Two champions on the final day of the 2012-13 season.
The son of ex-Stoke City and Chesterfield goalkeeper Carl, Muggleton reputedly has an even longer throw-in than former Southampton defender Rory Delap.
Manager Gary Mills has moved to add to his options with defensive duo Alex Whittle [hamstring] and Yan Klukowski [calf] currently sidelined, while on loan midfielder Asa Hall was expected to be recalled by parent club Cheltenham Town later this week.
