York City Ladies continue their preparations for the new season when entertaining Middlesbrough this evening (kick-off 7.00pm).

The Minsterbelles recorded a 4-3 victory against Doncaster Belles at the weekend with goals from trialist Nat Eustance, Kelly Chesterton, Rachel Harding and Jazz Whitwell.

Their next pre-season visitors are Boro, still regular opponents despite being a level up in Premier League Northern Division One – which is the fourth tier of women’s football.

The Teessiders arrive at York St John’s Sports Complex on Haxby Road having warmed up for the contest with a weekend 4-2 triumph over Bradford City – their goals coming from Becky Robinson, Bianca Owens, Clare Helm and Emily Wilson.

Boro’s reserves also accounted for their York counterparts seven days ago by a comprehensive 5-1 scoreline, with pre-season trialist Eustance once more on target for the home side.

City Ladies are back in action on Sunday with both their first and reserves teams meeting their counterparts from Newcastle United – who are themselves a further level higher than north-east rivals Boro in the Premier League Northern Division.
