Mansfield Town romped to the top of the table with a 4-0 triumph over bottom club Altrincham at Moss Lane. Keigan Parker scored twice late on, including a penalty, after Adam Smith set up Paul Connor for the first and added the second himself.

A Matt Tubbs penalty earned Crawley Town a narrow 1-0 home victory over Forest Green Rovers in a game in which four players were sent-off. Kyle McFadzean and goalkeeper Michel Kuipers were dismissed for the home side, with Scott Bartlett and Gavin Caines both seeing red for their opponents.

Luton Town were held 1-1 at home by Hayes & Yeading United, who actually lost the corresponding game 8-0 last season. Andy Drury netted his first goal for the Hatters before being sent-off in the final minute. Bradley Pritchard had earlier given the visitors a shock lead.

AFC Wimbledon were also held at home by Newport County, whose Craig Reid struck a double, one of them a penalty, in reply to a Danny Kedwell spot-kick and Christian Jolley.

Wrexham eased the mounting pressure on manager Dean Saunders with a 2-0 victory at Bath City, where Andy Morrell and Christian Smith were both on target.

An Ashley Westwood own-goal gave ten-man Rushden & Diamonds a 1-0 win in their derby at Kettering Town. The visitors also survived the loss of Justin Miller, who was dismissed eighteen minutes before the end.

Grimsby Town came from behind to defeat Histon 2-1 at Blundell Park. Alan Connell netted twice for the Mariners, with his first coming from the penalty spot after Lee Wootton had begun the scoring.

Ten-man Kidderminster Harriers needed a last-minute equaliser from Jack Byrne to add to Keith Briggs’ opener in a 2-2 draw with Tamworth at Aggborough Stadium. Kyle Perry struck twice for the visitors, while their opponents had Marc Albrighton sent-off

Josh Coulson and James Jennings were both on the mark as Cambridge United progressed to their first victory of the season with a 2-0 win over Eastbourne Borough at the Abbey Stadium.

Barrow and Darlington shared a 1-1 draw at Holker Street in the late kick-off, with Jason Walker’s penalty cancelling out Paul Terry’s opener for the visitors. The Bluebirds later had defender Paul Jones sent-off.
