York City defender Sam Muggleton has joined National League North rivals Boston United on a month’s loan.
The 21-year-old former Barnet and Gillingham left-back has been restricted to just a single start since his arrival from Eastleigh in March.
He’s appeared seven times from the bench this season but hadn’t been directly involved under new manager Martin Gray.
“Sam needs some games. He just needs football,” Gray admitted to York’s official website. “To give the kid the best chance, he needs a month’s worth of football. So he will go there, train with us, train with Boston, and play with Boston.”
Long-throw specialist Muggleton was expected to make his debut against Curzon Ashton this afternoon.
