York City Ladies are finally back in action when travelling to North East Regional Premier League leaders Durham Cestria on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 2.00pm).
It’s now a vastly extended ten weeks since the Minsterbelles were succumbing 3-0 at home to a traditionally powerful Norton & Stockton Ancients back in late November.
Since then a number of postponements have continued to leave them inactive, which is hardly ideal preparation for meeting a side that have already won seven of their opening eight league games while currently leading the table by eight points.
However, Durham have actually played even less than their opponents over recent weeks, with only a single fixture completed since mid-November – that a 4-1 home triumph against Hartlepool United early last month.

They previously included a hard-fought 2-0 victory at York on the opening weekend of the league campaign, when Molly Holder and substitute Nisha Mistry struck for the visitors at the end of each half.
Cestria have also accounted for Castleford White Rose, Hartlepool (again), RACA Tynedale, Wakefield and Wallsend BC in the league this season.
Indeed their only setback was a shock 1-0 reversal at fellow newcomers Farsley Celtic seven days after collecting maximum points from Haxby Road.

The Belles are currently seventh in the table and searching for a third victory in four games following their double-header success against Castleford almost three months ago.
Former Leeds striker Ellie Regan and Megan Bramham were on target in both of those games, with the former now having scored four times in her last six appearances.
Elsewhere, this weekend second-placed Wallsend travel to Hartlepool while still unbeaten Norton & Stockton visit bottom-of-the-table Wakefield, with Farsley hosting Castleford in the remaining game.
